You can utilize Live Transcoder with Wowza Streaming Engine for your Live Streaming. By transcoding your live streaming using Wowza Streaming Engine, you can provide adaptive bitrate streams. To do this, you can select the transrating or transcoding options in Wowza. By selecting transrate, you encode your video from one format like H.264 codec to other bitrates to the same codec. With choosing transcoding, you’re taking your live streaming source from one format/codec to another format/codec. In the latter case, you can transcode from a format not supported by Wowza to one that is.
The primary reason behind Wowza Transcoder was likely to assist webcasters, streaming producers, and others by limiting the upload bandwidth required for sending streams to the server. In the transcoder scenario, you can send one live stream to Wowza Streaming Engine and have the server transrate or trancode the other adaptive streams for delivery. It makes the process more efficient and reduces costs. This is one of my favorite features from any streaming server or streaming engine! So, be sure to utilize Live Transcoder with Wowza Streaming Engine
